2017-06-17- Hometown Histories (Stories Worth Remembering) - When Wayside WasFarmland - Dave Osborn and Mary Osborn Siver
At one time, most of New
Jersey was farmed (that is where the name the “Garden State” comes
from). As late as the 1960's if you lived west of Route 35 in Ocean
Township, your family was involved in farming.
Dave Osborn and his sister
Mary are from a Wayside farming family that goes back generations.
Dave may have been an Ocean Township Police officer, but he still
farmed the family's land in western Ocean.
Dave and Mary sit down
with our Hometown Histories crew to discuss farming in Ocean Township
and the many families who once worked the land to make a living.
Marge Edelson, Museum
Trustee is the host of this episode. Dallas Grove is Executive
Producer; Produced by Ted Dellinger and Joe Bove; Music is by Bill
Madden.
Funding for Hometown
Histories was provided by the New Jersey Cultural Trust.
